Washington Trails Association

Non-Profit Partner

Washington Trails Association (WTA) acts as the voice for hikers in our home state, protecting hiking trails and wild lands, mobilizing volunteers to maintain trails, and promoting hiking as the best way to soak in the beauty of Washington State. Outdoor Research has partnered with WTA for over a decade, providing financial support to fund WTA's initiatives, in-kind donations to their community gear lending library, and gear and prizes to support their annual fundraising events. With our support, WTA supports veteran and new hikers alike, ensuring the wonders of Washington State continue to provide the life-changing experiences that shape our outdoor community.

Why We Work Together

Hiking is often the first way many of us interact with the outdoors. Setting off from the trailhead with a bottle of water, a backpack full of snacks, and a few friends to find a lake, a summit, or just some peace of mind is one of the easiest ways to experience the energy the trail provides. Increasing access opportunities, maintaining trail quality and information, and fostering an inclusive environment to experience all the trail has to offer are critical to growing our outdoor community.
